How to automate repeating journal entries
Some journals repeat every month — rent, amortisation, standing accruals. RushFlow’s Recurring Journals let you store a balanced journal template and have it post automatically on a schedule, so you set it up once instead of re-keying it every period.
Step by step
- Create a templateWeb: Accounting → Recurring Journals → New. Name it, set the frequency (monthly / quarterly / yearly), start date and optional end date, and add the journal lines (account, debit, credit) — the template must balance.
- Let it runDue entries post automatically; you can also press Run to post everything due now. It catches up any missed occurrences up to today.
Safe by design
Recurring posting is idempotent (an occurrence already posted for a date is never posted twice) and it skips locked financial periods rather than forcing an entry into a closed month. So you can run it freely without fear of doubles or reopening closed books.

Yes. Store a balanced journal template with a frequency; RushFlow posts it on schedule, catching up missed periods, without double-posting and without writing into locked periods.
