Activity Centre: who did what, and how to undo it
The Activity Centre answers two questions that are otherwise very hard to answer: who did this, and can it be undone. It reads both the document history and the stock ledger, so a stock movement shows up even when it did not come from a document somebody filed.
What the feed shows
- The action, in plain words
- Who took it, and from which outlet
- When — in your business’s own time, not the server’s
- A link straight to the document or product involved
Reverting is a mirror, not an eraser
Reverting something does not delete it. It creates an opposing entry that mirrors the original — the same accounts, the same stock, in the opposite direction. The original stays visible, which is what makes the books explainable afterwards.
Two identical entries are not always a duplicate
If you see the same figure twice, check whether a reversal sits between them. A document that was reversed and then re-entered legitimately produces two matching entries with an opposing one in the middle, and the net is right.
When you cannot revert
Some actions cannot be reversed automatically — usually because something later depends on them. In that case the Activity Centre says so rather than attempting a partial undo.
Frequently asked questions
Does reverting delete the original?
No. It posts an opposing entry that mirrors it. Both remain visible and the net effect is zero.
Why do I see the same amount twice?
Check whether a reversal sits between them. A reversed-and-re-entered document legitimately produces two matching entries.
Does it show stock changes that had no document?
Yes. The feed reads the stock ledger as well as document history, so movements appear even without a filed document.
