How to automate replies and actions with rules

Web Updated Aug 2026

Meta Manager includes an IF/THEN automation engine. Define rules that watch incoming activity and take an action - tag a conversation, auto-reply, send an event, call a webhook, or set a score - so routine handling runs itself and your team focuses on real conversations.

Step by step

  1. Open AutomationWeb: Meta Manager → Automation.
  2. Create a ruleSet the condition (IF) - e.g. a keyword or a lead signal - and the action (THEN).
  3. Choose the actionPick from: tag, auto-reply, send an event, trigger a webhook, or set a score on the customer.
  4. Enable and monitorTurn the rule on; it runs against incoming activity.

What you can automate

  • Auto-reply to common questions
  • Tag and route conversations
  • Send a tracking event on a trigger
  • Fire a webhook to another system
  • Set a lead/intent score
Auto-reply here is rule-based. AI-generated replies are a separate optional hook - see AI features.

Frequently asked questions

Can I auto-reply to Facebook/Instagram messages?

Yes. Build an automation rule with an IF condition (e.g. a keyword) and a THEN action of auto-reply - plus tag, send event, webhook or set score.
