How to record deliveries with delivery notes

A delivery note records what you actually sent a customer — line by line, with carrier and tracking details — and supports partial deliveries when an order goes out in stages. It’s the outbound twin of a goods receipt note, and it feeds the Order Fulfilment report.
Step by step
- Start a delivery note against a saleWeb: Sales → Delivery Notes → New, pick a deliverable sale; RushFlow shows each line with ordered / already-delivered / outstanding.
- Enter what’s going nowEnter the “deliver now” quantity per line (at least one), and add carrier, tracking number, driver and recipient if you want.
- Dispatch and deliverA note moves Draft → Dispatched → Delivered; only dispatched/delivered notes count toward delivered quantity. Cancel a note (rather than delete) once it’s dispatched.
Delivery notes don’t move stock
A delivery note is a dispatch record bound to the sale — it documents what left the building. The sale itself remains the single authority for stock and accounting, so recording a delivery note never double-counts inventory.
