Web Updated Aug 2026

Switching to RushFlow from another POS, a spreadsheet or an accounting tool is mostly a matter of bringing your data in cleanly: products, customers, current stock, and opening balances. Do it in this order and you’ll start trading on RushFlow with correct numbers from day one.

Step by step

  1. Set up the basics firstCreate your business, currency & tax, and branches — see set up your business.
  2. Import productsExport your product list from the old system and import it, with prices and costs. Duplicate detection catches repeats.
  3. Import customers (and dues)Import customers with any balances they already owe you.
  4. Enter opening stockCount what’s on the shelf and enter it as opening stock per branch, with cost.
  5. Set opening balancesEnter opening balances for your cash and bank accounts and any supplier balances, so the books match reality on your start date.
  6. Go livePick a start date, stop entering new activity in the old system, and trade on RushFlow. Keep the old system read-only for reference.

A clean cut-over

The cleanest switch is a dated cut-over: everything up to a date lives in the old system, everything after is in RushFlow, with opening balances bridging the two.

Get costs and opening balances right — that’s what makes your first RushFlow reports trustworthy.
