How to set up the customer display on a Sunmi dual-screen terminal

Sunmi Android Updated Aug 2026

On a Sunmi dual-screen terminal (T2, T2s, T2 Mini, D3), the customer-facing “vice” screen is detected automatically by the RushFlow POS app — you just switch the customer display on and choose what it shows. It takes under a minute.

Step by step

  1. Open the customer-display settingsOn the POS device home screen, tap Customer display. This opens the customer-display settings with a live preview of exactly what the second screen will show.
  2. Turn on the customer displayToggle Second (customer) display on. If a secondary screen is connected — as on a Sunmi dual-screen terminal — you’ll see “A secondary display is connected.” If it says none is detected, tap the ⟳ rescan button in the top bar.
  3. Pick which screen is the customer’s (if asked)If the device reports more than one external screen, choose which one faces the customer, or leave it on Auto to use the first external screen.
  4. Choose what shows between salesUnder What plays when idle, pick a welcome message, a looping video, a promo image, or a YouTube clip — see choose the idle media. Leave it on “Nothing (welcome message)” for a clean branded screen.
  5. Set your welcome and thank-you wordingUnder Wording, set the Welcome message (shown when idle) and the Thank-you message (shown after payment). Keep them short so they read across the counter.
  6. Test it, then ring up a saleTap Test on screen to push a sample order to the second screen. Then open the POS and add a product — the customer screen updates live with each item and the total. That’s it.

Good to know

A few things that make setup smooth:

  • The setting is remembered — once on, the customer display comes back automatically every time the app starts.
  • The live preview in settings mirrors the real screen, so you can style it without a customer present.
  • Leaving the POS screen returns the customer display to its idle media, so it never shows a stale order.

Frequently asked questions

How do I turn on the customer display on a Sunmi T2?

Open the RushFlow POS app, tap Customer display on the home screen, and toggle “Second (customer) display” on. The Sunmi vice screen is detected automatically; add a product to a sale to see the live order appear on it.

The second screen isn’t detected — what do I do?

Tap the ⟳ rescan button at the top of the customer-display settings. Make sure the vice screen is powered and, for an external monitor, that the HDMI cable is seated. See the troubleshooting guide if it still isn’t found.

Do I have to set it up every time?

No. Once you turn the customer display on, RushFlow remembers it and brings the screen up automatically each time the app starts.
