How to request stock from another location

Web Updated Aug 2026

When a branch is running low, it shouldn’t just help itself to another branch’s stock. RushFlow’s Transfer Requests let a location request replenishment from another, get it approved, and then raise the actual transfer — a controlled request-and-approve step before stock moves, so branches coordinate instead of competing.

Step by step

  1. Raise a requestWeb: Transfers → Requests → New. Set the destination (the location that needs stock), optionally the source (or “Any source”), and the product lines and quantities. It starts as Draft.
  2. Submit and decideSubmit the request; an approver Approves or Rejects it (a rejected request can be resubmitted). Approvals and rejections record who decided and when.
  3. Fulfil itOnce approved, raise the actual stock transfer, then mark the request Fulfilled (you can note the transfer number).

A request, not the transfer itself

A transfer request tracks the ask and the approval — it does not move stock on its own. The actual movement happens when you raise the transfer, which remains the authority for stock. This keeps replenishment orderly without double-moving inventory.

Statuses: Draft → Submitted → Approved → Fulfilled (or Rejected, which can be resubmitted).

Frequently asked questions

Can a branch request stock from another branch?

Yes. A branch raises a transfer request for replenishment; it’s approved or rejected, and once approved you raise the actual transfer and mark the request fulfilled.

Does a transfer request move stock?

No. It tracks the request and approval; stock moves only when you raise the actual transfer.
